2017年3月のカレンダーを手がけたのは、ステファン・カジエはフランスを拠点にするデザインスタジオ「イェーッ！スタジオ」のデザイナー。和洋折衷のレトロな雰囲気を持つイラストが得意で、作品は立ち上げたアパレルブランドのラインでも起用している。今作では、日本の持つ「伝統」と「最先端」という、対極ともいえる二つの顔を表現したいと、着物の女性と舞い散る桜、そして新幹線と高層ビルを描いた。劇画タッチな作風が多いが、今作では「“昭和の絵師”と称される上村一夫氏へのオマージュ」を意識したという。
Stéphane Casier, an artist and designer from Yeaaah! Studio based in Paris, France. Stéphane sees Japan as a country where modern technology and traditional folklore are both very important. So he illustrated a girl in kimono / yukata showing the traditional zen side of Japan, while in the background is the busy Tokyo buildings and trains. He also took inspiration from one of his favorite manga artists, Kazuo Kamimura.
