Converting Factory Lighting to LED

The factory where hoppy is made needs to be kept well-lit at all times, both for the correct production of the product and for safe and accurate operations.

In November 2019, the Chofu factory switched all lighting in the factory to LED. In general, LEDs are characterized by significantly lower power consumption, approximately 30% that of fluorescent lamps and 25% that of mercury lamps. At the Chofu factory, we were able to reduce electricity consumption by 11.1% by switching to LED lighting. This translates to a reduction of about 20 tons per year in terms of carbon dioxide emissions.

Compared to fluorescent lamps, LEDs have no flicker in their light, so they cause less strain on the eyes and have a positive effect on inspection and sorting operations. Thus, helping improve work efficiency. In addition, LEDs last dozens of times longer than incandescent bulbs and several times longer than fluorescent bulbs, so the frequency of work interruptions when replacing lighting fixtures is extremely low.

Incidentally, not only the lighting in the Chofu factory, but the lighting at the Akasaka Head Office is LED.
